JDM 2008 FD2 Civic Type R
When we decided to build a "shop car", we knew we had to do something nobody else has done. Everyone has built
USDM Honda/Acura's, and quite a few have even built JDM imported cars. We decided to take it one step further by building
a BRAND NEW JDM imported car. Mid 2007 we decided to purchase a 2008 Honda Civic Type R.

After what seemed like years of waiting it arrived. On December 6th a container backed up to the dock of our off site warehouse with
our brand new championship white CTR. After a long careful process of leveling the ramp from the container to the dock, we had to go
for a spin. Being the car was shipped whole (motor still in) the staff decided to take turns ripping around the facility.
We knew it would be a great marketing tool but couldn't get a final decision of what marketing route we wanted to take. We posted
a few pictures on 8thCivic.com and the response was great. Everybody seemed to want to see the car in person. With fans all over
we decided it would be best to send the car on tour. We contacted the good people at Hot Import Nights and set it up. The car would
be touring with them throughout the US. Thats when the chaos started. We had to do something (besides being the only CTR in the US)
to stand out, but we only had a few weeks to get it done.
We decided we had to give the exterior the most attention being the car would be on the HIN show tour for the entire 2008 season.
So the transformation began. For the wheel choice we turned to our good friends, the members at 8thCivic.com with a few choices. The
winner was the new Volk White Time Attack CE28N's. With the wheel choice and size set, we needed some tires. Thats when we
gave our good friend Terrance at Nitto Tires a call. A few days later a set of new Nitto NT01's arrived. The NT01 is the perfect choice
of tires for our shop build. Because not only are they aggressive tires perfect for weekends at the track, but the aggressive tread pattern
also gives that added look to the mean stance of the CTR.
  
We then decided to add some graphics along with our sponsor logos. For this we decided to go with 5th Dimension. The staff at 5th
took our idea's and and changed them up a little to get what you see in the images below. Once the graphics were done we knew there
was still something that needed to be added. Then it hit us, CARBON FIBER! We knew this was going to be custom since the car
was not available in the US. So we contacted Fiber Images, in Palmdale, CA. We knew we were pushing with our requests, being
we were nearing the deadline to get the car to the first HIN show. The Fiber Images crew was able to work around the clock to get the
hood, and custom Carbon roof completed in time. We were able to get the stock roof cut out, and the new roof installed with no time to
spare. The car was immediately loaded onto the trailer and delivered to San Mateo, CA. for its debut at the Hot Import Nights show.
